Privacy Policy
Effective September 8, 2026
1. What Natherin is
Natherin is a private household application. It is not a public service and there is no way to sign up for it. Every account is created by invitation from a household administrator, and each one belongs to either a member of the household or someone the household has hired into a role, such as a house manager or a nanny.
Because of that, this policy describes a small, known set of people rather than a general user base. If you received an invitation to Natherin and are not sure why, contact the person who invited you, or write to legal@zincan.com.
2. Information we hold
Natherin holds three kinds of information.
Account information you or your household administrator provide: name, preferred name, email address, phone number, profile photo, your role in the household, and an encrypted password.
Household content created in the app or brought into it:
- Calendar events, schedules, rides and driver assignments.
- Notes, goals, plans, trips, meal plans and recipes.
- Household roles — the job descriptions, hours and responsibilities the household writes, and who holds each one.
- Messages you exchange with Regent, the built-in assistant, including transcripts of spoken conversations, kept per person so your thread is yours.
- Email the household routes into Natherin, and email Natherin sends on its behalf.
- Budget and transaction information imported from a connected YNAB account.
- Calendar and mail content from a Google account you choose to connect.
Technical information generated by using the app: sign-in and session records, server logs, error reports, and similar operational data.
Natherin does not use advertising trackers, and it does not build advertising or marketing profiles of anyone.
3. Where it comes from
Most of it you type in. The rest arrives from services a member has deliberately connected, and only after that member has authorized the connection through that service’s own sign-in screen. Disconnecting a service stops any further information flowing from it.
4. How we use it
To run the household’s Natherin: to show the calendar, keep the budget, answer questions through Regent, send the reminders and digests a member has switched on, and to keep accounts secure. We also use it to fix problems and to keep the software working.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
5. Text messages
If you opt in to Natherin text messages, we use your mobile number only to send the informational texts you enabled, such as reminders and household updates. Opt in on the public Text messages page, or from your profile once you have an account. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for help.
Mobile numbers and SMS opt-in data and consent are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We use Twilio only as our messaging provider to deliver those texts.
6. Services we rely on
Running Natherin means handing certain information to the companies below. Each receives only what its job requires, and each is bound by its own terms and privacy commitments.
| Service | What it handles |
|---|---|
| DigitalOcean | Hosting, the application database, and storage for uploaded files such as profile photos. |
| Anthropic | The language model behind Regent. Your messages, and the household data Regent reads to answer them, are sent to Anthropic to generate a reply. |
| xAI | Spoken conversations with Regent. Audio and transcripts are sent to xAI while a voice session is open. |
| Composio | The broker that holds a member's authorization to their Google account and passes Natherin's requests through to it. |
| Calendar and Gmail content, for members who connect a Google account; and Maps, to estimate driving routes for the carpool planner. | |
| YNAB | Budget, account and transaction data, for the household's connected budget. |
| Postmark | Sending Natherin's email, and receiving replies back into it. |
| Twilio | Sending text messages and reminders. |
| Giphy | Searching for images when one is requested. |
| Slack | Optional notifications, where a household has connected a channel. |
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect someone’s safety or our legal rights.
7. Household staff
When the household hires someone into a role, that person gets an account with a deliberately narrow view: their own role, the household checklist and calendar, their own notes, and Regent. The household’s finances, plans, meals, goals, trips and email are not available to them — not merely hidden in the interface, but refused by the server and absent from the assistant.
In the other direction: a household administrator can see a staff account’s name, email, phone number, profile photo, the role they hold, and any note that person deliberately shares with the household. Notes marked personal are not shown to other accounts. Regent keeps each person’s conversation to themselves.
8. Children
Natherin is a family application, so it holds information about the children of the household — names, schedules, activities, who drives them where. That information is entered and controlled by their parents or guardians, who administer the account. Natherin is not directed to children as a service, and children do not sign up for it themselves.
A parent or guardian can review, change or remove a child’s information at any time from within the app, or by writing to legal@zincan.com.
9. Security
Traffic is encrypted in transit. Credentials to connected services are encrypted at rest. Regent acts only as the person asking, using short-lived tokens, so the server applies that person’s own permissions to everything it does on their behalf — there is no shared master key it can borrow.
No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise. If you believe an account has been compromised, tell a household administrator and write to legal@zincan.com.
10. How long we keep it
Household content is kept for as long as the household uses Natherin, because the point of it is a record that persists. When an account is removed, the personal information attached to it is deleted; content the household shares in common, such as calendar events, may remain with the household. Backups and logs age out on their own schedule.
11. Your choices
You can view and edit your own profile, control which reminders and digests you receive, and disconnect any service you have connected, from within the app. To ask for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to have it deleted, speak to your household administrator or write to legal@zincan.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal information; tell us and we will honor them.
12. Changes
If this policy changes we will update the effective date above, and material changes will be brought to the household’s attention.
